Led by Philly pianist Orrin Evans, the Luvpark project incorporates sounds reminiscent of ’70s Herbie Hancock, ’80s Steve Coleman and ’90s R&B and hip-hop. The core of Luvpark is Evans on piano and keyboards, regular collaborator Ralph Bowen on reeds, Mike Boone on electric bass, Donald Edwards on drums, Ron Jennings on guitar, and singer Dawn. The CD features special guests J. D. Walter, Alison Crockett, M. B. Singley, Mikki Korngay, T. C. III, Will Calhoun, Gene Jackson and Bilal.
